Show us portraits of your family members. Inspired by Ogden Nash's poem "Waiting for the Birdie": "Some hate broccoli, some hate bacon, I hate having my picture taken. How can your family claim to love you and then demand a picture of you?"

I love this theme--it's going to be difficult to get pictures as I'm usually not my camera-whore self around family.
Do these need to be 'portraiture' shots as per se, or would more casual images of family be acceptable as well (for example, the family gathered informally around the pool, the game table, the piano, whatever)? |

I think casual images should be fine: I'm not about this being about studio lighting, etc, but more "This picture says something about this person". That said, if you want to do posed stuff, that's fine too.
Also, the poem needs the meter: my mother was the best person in the world for reading it out loud, with all the dramatic pauses:
(Typing from memory: there may be errors)
Some hate broccoli;
Some hate bacon.
But I *hate* having
My picture taken.
How could your family
claim to love you;
and then *demand*
A picture of you?
The Electric Chair
is a comfortable chair;
But *I* know an equally
comfortless pair...
One is the Dentist's,
my good sirs.
The Other?
The Photographer's.
You open the door,
you enter the Studio
You feel less Cheerio
than Nudio.
The hard light shines
like Seventy Suns

| Would your best/close friends count as family? Otherwise you're getting 3 pictures of orionid and/or the Fauxcat because I don't have any contest worthy pictures of any other family members, nor do I live within 500 miles of any of them. |

Apparently so. I grew up hearing over and over that I must be the milkman's son (usually preceded by my doing something absurd). |
